Nature Observer Photo Gallery
On April 14,2010 I photographed a male Red-bellied Woodpecker excavating a nest cavity. He did not have a mate. He abandoned the hole and it was taken over by a pair of Northern Flickers that successfully raised a family. The day the flickers left the nest, a Gray Squirrel moved in.
