The Nature Observer News, a natural history journal about western Pennsylvania, ran from 1992 through 2005.  It informed and entertained naturalists and nature enthusiasts with news, sightings and stories.  Each issue contained an almanac, readers’ observations, a monthly phenology and a calendar of events.  There was also a column of satire and humor by Will Trout.

The Nature Observer News had a loyal and an enthusiastic following.  They insist there is a huge void in its absence.   At the urging of the readers, I’ve created an on-line version, The Nature Observer’s Journal.
