Nature Observer’s Gallery

On April 6, 2011. on a Halifax River field Trip to Tiger Bay State Forest near Daytona Beach, FL  I photographed a pair of Brown-headed Nuthatches foraging through a low Slash Pine.  Normally these birds bounce non-stop high in tall trees, far above human observers, but these two were almost at our level.  At times they were too close to focus in our cameras.

Enjoy the slideshow.
