On July 24, 2011 I collected three Gulf Fritillary caterpillars at Tiger Bay Wildlife Management Area in Volusia County, FL.  I reared  them in a terrarium with sprigs of Maypops.  On July 26 they were 30 mm long, little more than an inch.  By July 29 they were 50 mm or two inches. On the morning of July 30 each had successfully formed a chrysalis.

I put together photos of these three with other Gulf Fritillary photos to show the life cycle of this colorful species.
